How to Create Consistent Characters with Midjourney v6.1

Why consistency is hard

Every generation starts from noise, so faces drift. Character references anchor the model on one identity.

Using –cref

Add the image URL after –cref and tune –cw. A value of 100 copies face, hair and clothes; 0 copies only the face.

Consistent character prompt
[Character description], standing in [scene], [lighting] --cref [image URL] --cw 80 --ar 2:3 --v 6.1

Building a character sheet

Generate front, side and three-quarter views first. Use these as references for every later scene.
